Global Project Roles

What are global project roles?

Global project roles are organization-level assignments that pre-define who acts as Reviewer or Approver for each governance function when a new AI system is created. Instead of manually assigning reviewers and approvers on every individual AI system, an Org Admin configures these slots once and they are applied automatically.

Role slots

Eight slots are available, covering four governance functions:

Slot Function
Compliance Reviewer Reviews compliance assessments
Compliance Approver Approves compliance assessments
Governance Reviewer Reviews governance policy assessments
Governance Approver Approves governance policy assessments
Assurance Reviewer Reviews assurance (testing/bias) assessments
Assurance Approver Approves assurance assessments
Audit Reviewer Reviews audit assignments
Audit Approver Signs off on completed audits

How it works

  1. An Org Admin assigns a person’s email to each slot under Organization Settings → Project Roles.
  2. When a new AI system is created, the people assigned to these slots are automatically added as stakeholders on that system with the corresponding project role (Reviewer or Approver).
  3. When an assessment is submitted for that function, routing goes to the pre-assigned person without manual selection.

Who can configure global project roles?

Only Org Admins can set or change global project role slot assignments. The org:manage_members capability is required.

A project Owner can preview which people are assigned to which slots for their system from AI System → Settings → Project Roles.
